Sue provided college and academic counseling for our son, who is a lacrosse player. Our son’s goal was to attend a small, liberal arts college of high academic caliber and play Division 3 lacrosse.
Sue supported our son in achieving his goal, starting at the beginning of his sophomore year. She provided outstanding advice regarding academic course selection, standardized testing scheduling, extracurricular activities, contacting college coaches, summer athletic camps, college visits, etc, etc.
As parents, we had no idea how to navigate the process of college applications and college recruiting. Sue guided us every step of the way, and she was always proactive in terms of keeping us on track. She is extremely collaborative, and her advice was excellent and valid, without exception.
In addition to her technical excellence and great knowledge base, we find Sue to be an amazingly warm person and an experienced parent, with wise and balanced advice. Sue related well to our son, and her relationship with our family reduced the stress that our son experienced in high school (and reduced our stress levels, as well).
We will always consider Sue a great friend. Due to Sue’s work and expertise, our son was successfully recruited and admitted to one of his top choices for college, Vassar College.
In sum, we are extremely grateful to Sue for her skills and assistance to our family. We would definitely enlist her services again in the future. We highly recommend her company for anyone seeking college counseling services.
Gretchen M. – Mother of Vassar College Student-Athlete“My son and I were referred to Sue through a colleague. We initially met with her when he was in 10th grade to get a general idea regarding how he should approach the college application process to maximize his chances of being accepted into schools that he was interested in. We also wanted a professional opinion regarding schools that could be a good fit for him. Sue reviewed his past grades and exam scores and made recommendations based on those, but she also based recommendations on his personality and interests. My son met with Sue in person or communicated over the phone or via email during the application process. Overall, it was extremely helpful to have a knowledgeable person guide us through this potentially stressful time. Thank you Sue!”
Lauren C. – Mother of University of California Berkeley Student“For any parent walking the path of college search and applications you know it can be nerve racking, intimidating, and overwhelming. Thank goodness for Sue’s help and guidance. She was always there to answer questions and guide us including College details, letters of recommendation, financial aid, etc. I don’t know how we would have done it without her knowledge and support. Sue’s the ultimate resource that all students and parents should definitely utilize.”
Rhonda M. – Mother of Ithaca College Student“We worked closely with Sue for several months trying to navigate the difficult and complex world of college selection for our daughter. Sue was fantastic and extremely helpful. Her depth of understanding of the entire process combined with her knowledge of the very best colleges in the nation…. make her the perfect choice if you need top notch assistance in this area.”
Jeff E. – Father of Northwestern University Student“Sue, we want to thank you for the excellent and knowledgeable advice you provided to our daughter in helping her make her choice for college a reality. She has been accepted to Skidmore College, her first choice! Her decision was not an easy one as she was accepted by several other excellent schools as well. Your help and expertise was vital in the overall process. I look back to the beginning of the college admissions process and prior to meeting you I was totally overwhelmed and quite nervous about the outcome. However, your guidance and recommendations were insightful, reassuring and very helpful. Again, thank you, and I will see you in four years for a double and triple repeat as my thirteen year old twin daughters will be looking for that perfect college fit.”
Jeff S. – Father of Skidmore College Student“Our family had the opportunity to work with Sue to help us navigate the college admissions process for our son. Sue helped our son evaluate and understand his options for college, and she was also very helpful in providing guidance on steps he could take to optimize his desirability to specific target schools. Sue was professional and engaging throughout the process, and I enthusiastically recommend her to any family that would like objective support and experienced guidance through this exciting process.”
Ed B. – Father of University of Pennsylvania Student“I don’t know what I would have done without Sue. She was exactly what I needed for my daughter because in addition to her professional knowledge and expertise, she had been through the process of athletic recruitment with her own two children – and as a result understood what it felt like to be a parent and the concerns that go along with being a parent. She knew exactly how to target the needs of my daughter and provide the relevant resources so that she could make the right decision.”
Dee L. – Mother of Sarah L., University of Michigan Student-Athlete on Full Athletic Scholarship“Sue has helped me so much over the last few years. She’s perfected the college athletic recruiting process, from start to finish, and was there for me since the very first day. I could ask her any question and she’d have the answer to it and I felt comfortable talking to her about anything. She knew exactly how to narrow down schools to fit my interests and abilities, and I wouldn’t have felt this confident with my choice if it wasn’t for her and how she guided me through the process.”
Sarah L. – University of Michigan Student-Athlete on Full Athletic Scholarship“During the final years of high school, it is often confusing and difficult to ascertain how a student’s athletic skills can come into play in his/her college application. The process can be confusing for a parent who is not familiar with the expectations of various colleges, especially if the student is not a clear Division I recruit. Sue’s expertise and guidance in this area was immensely helpful to us, especially since the knowledge she has in this area is not something one can easily attain just by research – which is why the services of an experienced consultant in this area is crucial and cost efficient. Her answers to our questions were always most pertinent, responsive, and enlightening – we only wished we retained her services much earlier. Thank you so much, Sue, for your help!”
